How do you dream? In color, or black and white? For those who have been blind from birth, can you describe your dreams? We have an ongoing discussion in our support group and I said I would pole a group of folks and so need your imput. Any details would be welcome. For those of us who have lost vision, do you dream that you have vision? Is it perfect vision or is it different? I have been told some people never dream. I do a lot, but my vision is never perfect. It's always been diminished. Thanks for your thoughts on this .

I have been blind from birth and I dream, pretty much as i am when I'm awake.
well, i could see very well when i was younger but have been totally blind since the age of 9. to save you the trouble of rushing to my profile to see when I was born, then doing the math to see how long that means i've been blind, 16 years! lol. i certainly used to dream in coloured images but as time has gone on pictures have faded for me. i don't dream a lot it has to be said, or not that i can ever remember anyway, but those that i do are very hard to explain! i think i do still kind of see but only in a very blurred out of focus kind of way. you know i'd see people, the shapes they are but not ever enough to tell you what they looked like, or even what they were wearing! curiously i think i only see them in black and white as well which i find odd! i can't think of colours ever really standing out for me anyway! not sure if that's normal or not! lol.
sorry, that's all a bit vague i know but its the best i could do! lol. hope that helps.
I dream in color. Everything's still blurry, but sometimes, I can tell who someone is, persay, if I haven't met them, then, I'll be seeing what I think they look like, and I'll know it's them before they say anything.
I dream as I am when I'm awake. I don't see anything in my dreams, images or color or anything, it's just voices and sound, mostly like when I'm awake. Can't remember feeeling anything though.

I've never seen a thing so I dream in sound, touch, smell and eh memory, but my dreams are remarkably vivid and usually extremely weird
In colour, because I can say see colours. But my dreams are mainly based on listening and feeling anyway.
I have always dreamed in color and also experience all of the other five senses in my dreams. I understand from what I have read that this is unusual. Maybe the fact that I have always had very clear and vivid dreams is why I have always liked sleeping so much. I am totally blind now but still see in my dreams at a level equivalent to how well I could see when my sight was at its best. If I dream about meeting a new person or someone I have met since losing my vision, their faces are a blur in my dream. But if I dream of someone I used to know when I could see, then they look the way they looked to me then. It's the same as when I attend a movie or watch TV. If the actor is old and has been around since I could see, then I picture them in my mind they way they looked the last time I was able to see them in a movie. But the younger actors have to be described to me and I still have no real good mental image of their face.
Having always had colour vision, even while all detail deteriorated, I still have a lot of colour in my dreams. I don't think I see much more while dreaming than I do now, but it's hard to say, since it's usually ideas which stick with me from dreams. But I used to see more, so it wouldn't surprise me if some more of that was still hanging around in my subconcious. I dream very vividly, but it's more about experiences and feelings than actual images... hard to explain, but aren't dreams always?
That is a very interesting question. For the longest time, I have been asked by my friends how I dreamed like. I always tell them that it was just normal for me. Just like what I know. I think that people dream what they know and imagine to know and that's how their mind works while sleeping. When I dream of someone that I have never met, it's usually their personality that catches me or the way they make me feel inside. Whether it be calm and secure or insecure and afraid. When I dream about a person I meet over the phone and have never met, it's usually their voice that is most catching to me. However, when I have met them and dreamed of them, I picture their voice at a certain height to me and how I remembered them. Hope this helps!!!
*sexy*
Some people can even smell in their dreams - I can't.
Yeah, I experience all five senses in my dreams.
I can't smell in my dreams, but I can feel, hear, and see in them. I can see color in my dreams, but it's usually what I'd either think the person would look like, or what the name of the person makes me think of. Also, weirdly, I can read Braille or raised print with my eyes, but the majority of what I read in is in Braille, and the Braille never looks one color. I think of the words in different colors. Besides seeing in dreams, I mainly use my sense of touch to "look" at most things though anyways.
